I, like everyone else, heard great stories about this amazing de-shedding tool, so I bought one and have tried it a dozen or so times on my American Eskimo dog. She looks like a giant snowball, an oversized Pomeranian or a miniature Samoyed for those of you who have never seen one - and as you can imagine, she has LOTS of hair and sheds tumbleweeds year round.
When I got this brush out of the package, the first thing I did it run it down my own arm to make sure it isn't painful like those pin brushes (which I bet you will stop using once you try them on yourself). It it actually fairly uncomfortable when you test it on yourself, because the blades are very sharp, so even though they are aligned in such a way as to provide a largely flat grooming surface, they still scrape and scratch quite a bit. That being said, dogs have thicker, tougher skin than people (well, most dogs) and can handle a bit more roughness. So I tried it out on my Eskimo.
I fully admit that it did work as advertised, for which I'll give it credit. The undercoat comes out little by little, in tiny poofs of wispy hair. If you groom for 15 minutes, you're completely covered in wispy hair that is soft and impossible to gather up and throw away. After 5 minutes she was noticeably uncomfortable,after 10 minutes she was shewing on me and acting fussy, after 15 minutes she started making little whining noises, and after 20 minutes she was practically biting my arm in annoyance. She never likes grooming much, but she really did not care for this tool. It rips the undercoat out in small bits. I wouldn't care for it either if it were me. I did get a lot of hair out of my dog, but she wouldn't come to me for half a day afterward because she appeared to feel mistreated by the grooming session.
Each successive session was about the same. I knew I wasn't really hurting her, but rather causing her quite a bit of discomfort, so I made sessions 10 minutes or less after that to minimize the soreness that apparently develops from the tearing out of the fur.

I've tried using things like grocery bags, bags from newpapers, etc. Grocery bags work pretty well but you have to preinspect them for holes first, and throw out the bad ones before you save them. Bags on Board is the "real thing" and substitutes just don't cut it. The package says they are biodegradeable "except in California" which I suspect is the only state in which there are actual standards on making this claim. I suppose the reality is that my pet's waste will sit in a landfill for a very long time before breaking down. I'm not proud of this, but as with disposable diapers, the convenience of easy local hygiene wins out. I've been using these for years now, and it's great that has them for less than the local pet store. They're a little expensive, but considering that it is pretty unneighborly to leave poo around, I think they've paid for themselves.

This is not just a comb or brush for cat 7 dog hair, it is a highly effective desheading tool that I tell all my friends and family about. I LOVE THE FURMINATOR!!! MY CATS LOVE THE FURMINATOR! It feels good on their coats (I have long haired & short haired cats) while I brush them and gets A TON of hair off. Afterward my cats dont shead! Seriously! I was getting annoyed with the loose cat hair everywhere, the hairballs and the constant sheading when I pet my cats- NO MORE! It REALLY works! They shead MUCH less and love being brushed. The FURmintator works better than any tool I've tried on our constantly shedding short haired tortie. We get so much cat hair off of her it's a wonder she isn't bald. The best part is that she actually LIKES to be combed with this tool. I can't tell you the combs I've tried and just ended up with an angry cat biting and clawing at it. With the FURminator, she acts like she's being petted when I comb her.

This works very well. If you place it on carpet or with a foam mat inside, I don't see how the average toddler could push it around. My son has yet to figure that out, and he's typically pretty destructive. Just the one yard is a good size. There's enough room for a couple 'big' toys, while still leaving room to crawl around. I think this is a great product for the price, and am considering buying another.Great for our needs!!

As working parents of a 6 month year old ( now almost 8)who was already crawling, sitting , standing with support and eager to explore his surrounding all his waking hours we needed someway to keep him safe while we were both busy either getting ready to go to work or doing household chores. This enclose meets all our expectations. Its easy to assemble, modify/reassemble to set up in different areas inside the house. It provides a large area for our son to explore and play with his toys without feeling being limited for space.We have set it up in the living room so we can keep an eye on our baby as we move around the house. Although initially our son was very excited about the "wall" using it to learn to stand up and walk around, he now kinda knows its real use is to keep him away from us. So he starts complaining after a few minutes inside it but at least we know he is safe in there. So we are very happy and do not have any complaints in the couple of months we have owned this product and rate it highly and definitely recommend it.

i love this product! i went a year with my new shitzu and her eyes and face always smelled bad. But this product cleared the smell and the stains! it is expensive to use it because the length of time and how much daily. we tried to cut back to every other day but the instructions are right, you have to follow them for it to work!

My dog has always loved getting things out of plastic bags. If I leave a plastic grocery bag out, he'll bring that to me with a toy--for me to tie his toy up in the bag for him. He will play with this until he gets the toy out, and then he'll bring me the bag and toy to AGAIN put in the bag for him.

Needless to say, my dog took to this toy naturally and he LOVES it! I've also hidden a treat in the bottom of the "trunk" for him to retrieve as a reward. This toy has given me time to do my hair in the morning (usually I get TONS of interruptions to play), and it's right up my dog's alley.

The trunk and the squirrels are well built. I ordered the small (my dog's 12 lbs) and it suits my dog fine. I would highly recommend this, and I will probably buy another kyjen toy that is similar to this (beehive, birdhouse, etc.) because my dog has enjoyed this so much.Great, durable toy

I got this toy for our almost-2 year old pit bull who is a voracious chewer. No toys made of material have ever lasted more than a few days with him. He LOVES pulling the squirrels out of their tree and making them squeak (two of the 3 squeakers still work, amazingly) and the toy is still in one piece (even more amazingly). We have to keep stuffing the squirrels back in the tree or he loses interest quickly. He figured out how to get them out in a split second or two. I got it to keep him occupied while the rest of the house is still asleep...it has done that, but as he gets more accustomed to the toy, he's seeming to lose interest in it more quickly. Guess it's time for a new toy!

The Tidy Cat Breeze Litter System is the best thing to happen to cat litter...EVER! Simple, neat and clean! No constant smell, no litter that ends up all over the room and so simple to keep clean. After one year we still love this box. No dust, No perfumes!!, no smell, no (almost) maintenance, no spouse complaints (almost).. it really has made a difference for our family. The low maintenance means our 7-year-old can do his chores quickly without any supervision during the week when he keeps poop scooped into a trash can with a lid. On trash day he can lift out the pad with no problems - what better testimonial is there? My father, who visits daily, makes sure he tells me if there are any smells he notices in the house. There have been NO complaints with this box.

Key issues
Smell - no urine at all - poop smells but if you scoop it into a covered trash can there is none (except in the can)
Cat adjustment - our cats took a week to get used to this and I had to put large marbles in my houseplants to keep them out (but the urine smell was taken care of with a handful of the pellets - another advantage) but they use it with no problems now.
Size - our converted barn cats at 8 lbs. fit, but I think another inch or two would help them like using system even better
Loose stool - bad. if this happens, pull out your emergency clay box for a few days because loose stool means a full clean up. But we've only had this once or twice in the past year.
Availability - is the only 'local' place we can get it, so we can't go out and get an emergency supply. I really hope they keep making this... I think our adjustment back to clay would take a lot longer than the cats took for this system.

Really, I am bad about writing reviews, but this box deserves as many good reviews I can give.
The only barrier I can think of for this system is if you have a very particular cat. But, don't give up too quickly because an extra day or two of clean ups is no big deal when compared to the advantages.

in several of the packages of filters I've bought one of the filters was not sewn all the way around and the charcoal spilled out and I could not use the filter because the charcoal would have spilled into the water in the fountain.
